The Mountains
Oh how I miss the mountains. I made it a point to stand and look at them each day. There was just something about them that helped set my soul at peace. I always told myself that I would never get to the point where I would take them for granted and not really see them anymore. I guess I took them for granted in the fact that they would always be there for me. Now I sit here in the flat wastelands of Kansas, with the ever present gray walls of my cube surrounding me. The closest I get to my beloved mountains is a photo I took hanging in my cube.

I grew up with Utah mountains and I haven't been many places without at least large hills. In fact, I can't think if a place off the top of my head that's been completely flat. It's kinda hard to imagine. Mostly, I would get lost because I wouldn't be able to tell directions (though that might not help much anyway >.<). Sometime I need to come visit all you Kansasians and be marveled by the flatness.
